Growing carnivorous plants is easier than most people think. Many are used to having their roots sit in water all day, so overwatering is not normally a factor.

Some advice I offer to people is to find the plants that can tolerate your habits. For example, if you continually overwater your plants, buy ones that can deal with that or better yet, will thrive under those conditions. If you ignore you plants for weeks at a time, find plants that can be ignored.
Orchids are wonderful plants to grow. I started growing orchids because I like the exotic looking flowers and because I heard that they were difficult to grow. There are some orchids that are more difficult to grow than others, but there are many beautiful orchids that are easy to grow for most people.
No plant is too difficult to grow, so long as you can provide for its needs. Knowing what your plant needs to grow well is usually the most difficult obstacle to overcome.
